Disasters!
The Low Points for The Soft City

Like any great city we have experienced and worked to get through some difficult times. Just because we’re built on a cuddly foundation does not mean we’re immune to hardship. Soft City citizens have seen their share of fires, floods and toppled skyscrapers over the few short years since its founding, which in the past, has left them on pins and needles. Environmental tragedy struck The Soft City in early February 2006, when the invasive and unstoppable Darling Needle Beetle wiped out the entire terry-cloth tree population. This left all lawns, parks and parkettes barren. During the same period a rash of vandals from neighboring Edegeville stole all of The Soft Cities street signage and traffic lights in one single night of terror, particularly impacted were the three car owners in The Soft City. From these two incidents combined the citizens of The Soft City have yet to fully recover but efforts from council have begun to replace what was lost. In one long week in May of 2006, The Soft City unwittingly became home to a house cat of godzillia proportions, who took up residency in and amongst the office towers of downtown of the Soft City Reeking havoc, a catnapping McTavish left a trail of crumbled buildings, heavily pawed streets and sidewalks and numerous fur-balls in its wake. However, the people of Upburg persevered by coming together to work around the clock fluffing the city back to good form. Continued efforts ensure that today’s Soft City is still thriving. Although there have been haunted buildings and fires that we still struggle to control….. The most recent disaster was a felt monster attacked. The softies are still recovering!
