The plushtastic Soft City founders took part in a larger project, by Flux Factory,where over 70 artists contributed their own miniature versions of buildings in New York City. Resulting in a massive miniature city! Of course ours were plush but the other artists choose harder materials. Here are a few of the cozy buildings we made.

The Soft City was a small part of the massive-mind-boggling art thang that is nuit blanche. We gave away many magnets and were mentioned in the Globe and Mail.

Thanks to our crack team of architects, planners and children we now have a permanent soft fair as part of the city. Apparently a Blyth doll named Magnolia also visited.

We will be holding workshops to build a soft CNE at the CNE from Aug 17th -22nd. We will also have souvenirs on sale. Look for us in the craft and hobby building. The City will be erected for the entire 18-day run of the CNE, we are sharing a big booth with the AGO and Design Exchange.

On a cold December in a 30,000 square foot open space, independent curator/ artist Heather Nicol created “Making Room”, a weekend long event featuring major works by over 50 established and emerging artists. The Soft City was there.

During Doors Open Toronto, we put together a workshop at OCAD, where families could design their own buildings, with The Soft City Council there to help sew and plan.
